The following are actual papers written about insects and arachnids by my mother's Year 7 Life Science class. They had two full class periods to work on these, and sadly, the results follow in their unabridged, pitiful reality. All the grammatical mistakes and misspellings are preserved for your enjoyment. To give you an indication of the general intelligence level of these children, my mom told them that their titles should be catchy or creative. Well, one of these little scamps called their paper "Be Catchy or Creative!" My god.

Just a forewarning before you dive in: if you plan on reading all of these at once, please PLEASE be drunk first.

1. Insects or Arachnid?
Have you ever seen to a moutain? I have. They are beatiful but the insectes and arachind are creepy. Insectes and arachind are creepy, but here is why they are not.
First, they are arthropes. Arthropods includes crustaceans, insects, myriapods, and arachnids. Arthropod means jointed foot. Both have jointed legs and segmented bodies. Second, both have jointed legs. The legs are connected to th thorax. Tha legs are not connected to the head. Last is they both have segments. Insects have three segments while arachnids have two.
Insects and Arachnids are differnt in alot of ways. Insects have six legs. Arachnids have eight. Second, arachinds have no wings, while insects have wings. Insects have two wings. This means insects can fly not arachnids.
Last, is hat insects have their body into three segments: head, thorax and abdamen. The arachnids have two body parts; cephalothax and an abdamen. At this time, you see what the differens, and similaritieis are. Now, do you wish you can be outside or at mountain. I did. You can go find out more about both of them.

2. The Amazing Comparison of Insects and Arachnids
Hi! My name is Maria and I'm going to tell Isects and Arachnid. I will also tell you how they are alike and how they are different. Then I will tell you their similarities. What I'am about to tell you will be interesting So interesting you will want to know more. Well let me get started.
I'm going to tell you some similarities about them two now. One is that they both have divided body parts. Their body parts are made in sections. Such as an ant, it is divide into 3 sections the head, the body, and the lower Part. Another thing is they both have hard outer covering to Protect themselves from danger or from enemys. The roch has a hard cover to use as a diffense. Do you want to know more? They both have jointed legs to move, to craw, and to bend. They are also both Arthropods. Arthropods have the same features as the Isects and the Arachnids. Same of the same features are hard body covers, jointed legs, and divided body parts. One moe thing they both have legs because they need to walk, climb, and move. Well that's most of the similarities let me tell you the Insects and the Arachnids differences and alikes.
Here, I will tell you differences and alikes. One thing is that Insects communicate with there antennae's and Arachnids communicate with sense. Another thing is they both have body regions but differnt numbers. The Isects have 3 body regions and the Arachnids have only 2 body regions. The reason you can tell if it is an Insect or an Arachnid is because Insects only have 6 legs and the Arachnids only have 8 legs. Would you like to know one more thing? Insects have wings and Arachnids have behaviors. Isects have wings so they can fly around. Well thats all of the differences and alikes for right now.
Insects and Arachnids live amazing lives. You think they stuff I told you was good? Wait until you find out how they live and what they eat. You will be so amazed on how these animal live and grow. You might even write a story about them. Remeber to look for books everywhere librarys, tex book, and store. I promise you, you won't be sorry that you learned about these magnificent creatures.

3. Do Bugs Bug You?
Insects and arachnids both have similarities and diffrences. People think that they are just pests. But they are actually really interesting.
Thier similarities will make them sound similar. Don't think that they are until you read their differences. They both feed on things to stay alive. People usually call them both bugs. Also the walk on legs, or have legs.
The differences are actually very different about them. Insects differences are haveing six legs instead of eight legs. Arachnids do not have any wings. Insects have complete or incomplete meta-morphas. Arachnids have two body parts, when insects have three.
In conclusion, you can tell what insect or an arachnid is. Bugs are not quite what they are called. You now know what I know about the insects and arachnids. I hope you use the information wisely.

4. How Wonderful are InSects and Arachnids!
Do you like Insects or Arachnids? I kind of like them both. Some people think that bothArachnids and Insects are ugly. but people don't know about them. So that is why I will talk about. So here I go.
The first one is their similarities. One thing is they are both Arthropods. Arthropods are animals that have jointed appendages. They also have hard outter covering. Insects and Arachnids both have hard outter covering so when someone tries to attack them they can just cover up with the hard covering. When it is winter and that is when all of the cold comes and you don't want to be freezen So you need a cover. Insects and Arachnids both have dividing body parts. Insects have the head, thorax, and abdomen. Arachnids have only two body regions called the cephalothorax and abdomen Instead of three body parts like the Insect.
The second thing is Insects have only six legs. Insects need legs to move with or else Insects would not be able to move. Arachnids have eight legs. Insects and Arachnids are very different but also the same to. The Insect has two antenas. The antenas are for that the insect can sting someone or some things. Aracknids on the other hand have no antenas. Arachnids have other things to help them get away from. The Insect has three body parts the Head, Thorax, and Abdomen. Arachnids otherwise has two body parts the cephalothrax and abdomen. Insects mostly have wings. The insects need wings to help them fly and to move. Arachnids do not have wings they have legs to walk with. That is the compare & contrast that are different.
I just compared and contrast about insects and Arachnids. I hope that you liked the story. I know I sure did. Sometimes when you read a book or paper that is so great. You just want to get up and look them up. Well I hope you do that!
The END

5. The Wonderful World of Insects and Arachnids
Do you know anything about or the differences of insects and arachnids? You want to hear about them both? I got some great facts from the best selling magazine. Isn't that great?!
- Similarities
Insect and arachnid are arthropod. Arthropods have jonited feet. They have rigid bodys covering called exoskeleton. There body's are divided into two(2) or more parts. Not the same but just divided into to parts.
- Differences
Insects have three(3) parts a thorax, abdomen, and head. Theyhave six(6) legs. Insects also inludes antennaes just two(2) only. On the other hand arachnids are very different they only have two(2) body parts the cephalothorax, and abdomen. The legs are attached to the cephalothorax on the either sides. They have for(4) legs, No antennaes.
- Conclusion
Insects and Arachnids are very intresting. They may seem like just pests to you but, some way somehow they change the world everyday. It's veryintresting learning about these creatures that I never paid attention too. Thanks for watching turn back to my page when you need help.

6. "What are Arachnids & Insects"
Do you know the difference between an insect and an arachnid? Well I doo And if you want to know well than you should read my paper. Before I get into detail, about these two characters. I was wondering if you knew anything about insects and arachnids.
The similarities that insects and arachnids have are the following. They both have small bodies. Another similarite they both have in common is that may both sometimes might have stingers. Sometimes if your lucky you will find that, an insect & arachnid both have abdomens. But did you ever know that both of these animals have a cephalothorax. To sum things up, that is basically what they have in common.
Hey Aaron did you know that arachnids don't have antennaes. No I sure didn't. Hey but Vinson did you know that insect's do. Yes because I have been studying these creatures for many years. Hey, Aaron, but did you know this. What, arachnids only have two body parts, and insects have three. You, know what Vinson I never knew that until you told me. By the way thanks for telling me. Because if you hadn't of told me I would of knew.
Hey I beat you don't know the difference between arachnids. But if you want to know more, come to the Houston Museum of Natural Science on December 12-14 from 10-6 for free. I hope You come and have a good time. Oh one other thing. I want to thank you for taking the time to read my paper.

7. Insects and Arachnids
Did you know that scorpions, mites and ticks aren't insects! They are actually arachnids. So just listen up if you want to know more. I have a lot of differences and similarities about insects and arachnids. Well, are you ready, let's go!
You may think you know all the similarities of insects and arachnids, but think again. I know a lot more and thats why you should listen to what I have to say. Both insects and arachnids make up the largest group of arthropods. Both insects and arachnids have different shapes size and colors. For instance bees have black and yellow and scorpions have black, orange, yellow and lots of other colors. Many insects are bigger than arachnids. Many arachnids are bigger than insects and some the same.
The diffrences betweem insects and arachnids are remarkable. You should listen and learn. Here we go! Insects mostly have wings. They also have antennaes, six legs and three body parts Arachnids, however have no antennaes, eight legs, and only two body parts.
I told you there was going to be interesting things about these creatures.

8. Comp.
OH! did you see that insect go. If you didn't, loock again, and you can see that this insect can jump higher than a arachnid. Actually our teacher Mrs. MCcanna is showing us some similarities and differences about this courses. Its time for you to put on your seatbelts on, because Im about to take you to my Science Brain, and teach you some thing you need to learn.
First of all, the first things are the similarities. Both courses bite and sting yous like the ants and spiders. The ants bite and sting yous & like the spiders, But one thing is that not all the ants sting. The second similarities are the krikets and the frogs. They both can jump. They can also protect their self with their skin. This Last similarity is my favorite one, because they are spiders and tarantulas. Them both have 8 legs and some have Poison and they bight.
On the othe hand ther are some differences left. You will be amazed about this. The first different thing is that some arachnids and some insects do not eat the same way. Another thing is that them both have different number of hearts. They also eat different food, and some sleap late of working and some sleap early to start working.
I hope you learned some brain blasting about differences and similarities about these two courses. If you think this was Fun make sure you loock for me again. Remember Mrs. MCcanna is a very smat and nice teacher.

Insects and Arachnids have many similarities, and differences. I'm comparing them because their both cool. Some are different Than others. They are all same to me. For example, they're both are athropods. Having hard outer covers help them in many ways. They also have segmented body Parts. Having all of this important things, all it need is jointed legs. Well guess what, they do.
Although they have man similiarities. They also have many differences. first of all, an Insect has two atennaes and not the arachnids. Second of all arachnids don't go through metamorphisis. Finally we go to behaviors. For example bees and ants. Bees comunicate by movement, and ants by a special chemical.
Now that you know all of this. You should vote on which one you like the most. Even if they look scary at first. They are really Interesting.

10. Insects vs Arachnid.
Have you ever got mixed up when trying to describe insects and arachnids? If you do, don't get discouraged, if happens to the best of us. Read this as I try to help you understand these two different types of arthropods.
Each type of arthropod has it's own distinct characteristics to help you identify them by. For instance, while an insect may have up to 6 legs, an arachnid could have up to 8 legs. Also insects undergo a tye of metamorphosis, to change the way they look, while arachnids stay the same shape but just grow in size. The way some insects get around is by flying. Arachnids don't get that chance to fly.
Aside from the differences the two share, they also share quite a few similarities. Like the fact that they both share, they also share quite a few similarities. Like the fact that they both share the hard outer covering. Plus they both have bodies that are segmented. Last arachnids and insects Share another characteristi, they have jointed legs.
In conclusion, you have learned many things. You've learned about their legs, their bodys and about their wings. I hope that now when someone asks you, "what characteristics does an arachnid and an insect share!", you can answer with confidence.

11. Did You Know?
A NASA sientist who DOES that much about arthropods Did you know that insects and arachnids are very different but similar at the same time? People really don't know a lot about these two groups. Now I'm not a NASA sientist and I really don't that much about arthropods, but I do know a little about them. Now don't fall out of your chiar when you read this, I don't want you to get hurt.
Now you can just look at an insect and an arachnid and just see the similarities at an instant. Which proves my first similarity, their both arthropods. Arthropods is a huge group that you insects and arachnids come out of. Arachnids and insects have jointed legs. Usually the legs have three to four parts in one leg. Can you believe that? Well I beat you didn't know that both insects and arachnids have a hard outer covering to protect their bodies from getting hurt. When I was watching this show two spiders were in a fight and of course one of them died but when I was watching the show the two spiders were trying to bite each other and because of their hard outer covering it would be very hard to kill the other spider.
Out of all that there are a lot of differentes at the same time. like for instance arachnids have eight legs and insects only have six. Really people can notice that right away, which is not a surprise. I mean I can look at an insect or arachnid and tell the difference. Well did you know that insects have antennaes and arachnids don't? Well you know you can also look at both of them a can see that. Plus insects have three body parts and an atachnid has only 2! Well I bet you didn't know this. insects have been around even before the dinosars and arachnids haven't!! of course I haven't been around that long I'm only 14. Insects can also grow wings when they are adults and arachnids don't grow any wings. Now when insects are in the mateing season the girl insects give out a scent to try and get a male and arachnids don't. Well thats pritty much all I can say about insects and arachnids. Now you know that isn't all the things you can lurne about both of them so go to the liburary.

12. Untitled
Have you ever known what are Arachnids or insects? Most of the people don't know the differents from Arachnids and insects. These two groups aren't wanted most of the insects are undesirable.
Most people just see mosqitos, Horseflys. People that see animals that are Arachnids think that the aninals that they see have poisin but, the animals the people have seen are mostly spiders. Most of the Arachnids aren't from around here. You're probably think where are Urachnids from? Arachnids are from dersots, forsets or grass. Arachnids are animals that uses eyes and don't have antannas. For example, spiders, scorpions, ticks, mite. all of the Arachnids don't use antannas. Some of the Insect and Arachnid are the same. Quickly as they to blend from aniamls that try to eat them. Then, the attacker will get confused.
Insects and archnids are excellent to work with because, You can find out a lot of Insects and archnids that you didn't know about.

13. Diffrences & UnDiffrences
Have you ever have think about the diffrences and Undiffrences that insects and Arachnids have? Well if you haven't, is time for you to Know! Now, I'm going to tell you the Diffrences and Undiffrences of this arthropods. This is your time to check out how this arthropods are so cool and interesting to learn.
The insects make the up the largest group of arthropods. Insects have an open circulatory system. Oxygen is not trasported by blood in the system, but food and waste materials are. Insects have 6 legs, insects also have wigs, the insects have 3 body parts And for last they have antennas.
Arachnids have 8 legs, arachnids have only 2 body parts. An at last, arachnids do not have anntenas, like unsects do. This arachnids are also called arthropods. Now I'm going to tell you the Similar things about insects and Arachnids. They are both members of a group of animals called arthropods. They also have jointed legs, hard outer coverings, and bodies divided into parts.
Now I'm finish explaining the diffrences and Undiffrences that insects and arachnids have. Now youre able to know the cool this arthropods are. Ain't they amaizing!

14. Small and Nasty
Do you know what insects or arachnids is? If not, I am writing about the contrart and the similarities about insects and arachnids. I writing a comparing about insects and Arachnids because they have so much great things to talk about. Insects and arachnids have a lot of differences and likenesses.
One similarities thing is insects and arachnids are both arthropods meaning jointed and pods meaning foot. Both insects and arachnids have jointed appendages which are structures, such as claws, legs. Both have more then one body part like a insects it have a abdomen, thorax, and a head. Both are segmented, which meaned a pair of jointed legs attached to a body part.
A insect has six jointed legs, but on the other hand a arachnids has eight jointed legs. An insect has three body parts a head, thorax, and a abdomen, but an arachnids has two body parts, a head and a thorax. An arachnids has no wings while an insect has two are four wings.
Insects and arachnids has a lot of contrast, and similarities with each other. Insects and arachnids are small but can do a lot of things like fly or shot web. They small, but I will not touch them.

15. Insects and Arachnids
Decisions, Decisions! Insects and Arachnids. Which one is better for you. Insects and Arachnids are very interesting animals that are easy to catch. Well let's go on and learn their diffirences and similarities.
Insects and Arachnids are similar in many ways. They both have legs to walk. Insects an Arachnids are sometimes hard to find somewhere clean. Some Insects have beautiful colors just like the Arachnids.
Diffirences, all animals are born diffirently in many ways. For example, Insects have six legs while Arachnids have two body parts that include the cephalothorax and the abdomen. Insects have three body parts that include the head, thorax, and the abdomen. Sciencists discover and describe more and more things every year. Insects have their diffirences just like people do. You know mainly everything about Insects and Arachnids. Would you like to learn more.

16. Small Animals
Have you ever seen an insect or an arachnids? If you haven't see one yet, I know where you should go, to the woods or to a forest. I think that one of those places will be a lot of them. And guess what today is your lucky day I'm going to tell you about it.
There's a losts of similarities about insects and arachnids. Insects and archids both bite and stings. When some of them bite or stings a person , the person might died. They also have a lot of legs. They also have an hard outer cover so they might live longer. The insect and arachnids have bodys divided into segments. Insect and arachnids have jointed appendages too.
All insects have three legs althought arachnids have only two legs. Most of the insects fly and arachnids don't. The insects fly because most of them have one or two pairs of wings .
On the other hand the arachnids have four pairs of legs. And the arachids have two body parts they are the cephalothorax and abdomen.
Theres still alot things about arachinds and insects. I didn't tell you all because I didn't have time. But you can see what thing you miss , if you want.

17. Insects and Arachnids
Have you ever wondered whats different or similarities between insects and arachids? You see insects and arachids are every where inside your house and outside and you don't ever know it! Do you even know whats a insect or a arachid is?
Do you know the similarities of the insects and arachids? Insects and arachids are both members of the phylum, or group, of animals called arthropods. Also insect and arachnid have jointed legs and hard outer coverings ,and bodies divided into parts. For example butterfly and a spider have jointed legs and both bodies are bilateral symmetry.
Do you know what the differents between insects and arachids? For example Termite and a Fick. A Termite has six legs and Tick has eight legs. A Termite has three body parts and the Tick has two body parts.
Did you know theres more than 700,000 species of insects have been classified? So when you go home and see a spider don't say insect because it's a arachids?

18. Untitled
With students like this, who needs scientists? Today I am going To Tell you The differance and simularitys between insects and arachnids. Hope you will pay attention and you might learn about more when you hear my story. I will Tell you about The diffrances first. Do please pay attion To my story.
Insects and arachnids are Two vary diffrent Things first of all some insects feed on plants arachinds dont. insects have Three legs arachnids have four legs. Insectshave antennis but arachnids do not have antennis. Insects are smaller then arachnids are bigger Then Insects. Now I will Tell you The simalaritys about Insects and arachnids.
They both lay eggs To have baby's. Thay build Thair own homes out of dirt. Most insects and arachnids are vary annoying To humans. But, some are not.
Now I have Told you about arachnids and insects. Do I hope you injoyed my paper. I hope you learned more facts about arachnids and insects.

19. Insect and Arachnids
Have you ever thought what the diffrences between Arachnid and Insects? They are alike in many ways, however they are different. You will find the interest facts that you will find out!
Do you know how many legs Arachnid and Insect have? Well you see Arachnid have eight legs, yet Insects have six legs. That is a difference between Arachnids and Insect. For example Butterfly has antennaes, but a Tick doesn't have antennae. However just Insect have antennaes not Arachnid. So there are
Both Arachnid and Insect have jointed legs. This is a way both ressemble, for example they both have hard outer coverings and bodies divided into parts. Also an scorpion paralyze it's prey, yet also the spider does to. A scorpion is a Arachnid, How ever a spider is a insect.
So Arachnids and Insect have difference, yet are alike in many ways. These animal are know as the most sucessful animals. The habnits are unusual but yet so interesting.

20. Be Catchy or Creative!
Have you ever wondered the differences ans similarity's between insects and arachnids? Well here's your your chance! The following paragraphs describe same differences and similarity's.
Insects and Arachnids do have an amount of similarity's. Did you know that "both" insects and arachnids build home's and also lay egg's? These animals have to work hard for their familiesand queen's, just like your parent's take care of you, except your parents dont hunt, instead they go to store's. Another similarity' between these species is some are horrible pests to some of us human's. The most I hate are roaches, cause they swither around at night outside and also at your house, mostly at your kitchen.
Insects and arachnids have more differences then similarity's. One difference between these species are that insects have antennae while arachnids dont. I don't really know wht insects have antennae? Another difference between insects and arachnids is that arachnids feed on other animals, "or," let's say insects. Some insects feed on plants but a few eat animals or food, like roaches. E'eeek!! (insert picture here) LOOK!
Check out if you can find any of these pests, and probably keep count of how many you saw! Fun activity.

21. Insects and arthropods
In this paper, you will learn the differences and the similarities between insects and arthropods. I am writing this paper because because before I was confused between insects and arthropods now I learned a lot. I am also writing this paper because I want to teach you about the differences and similariteis between insects and arthropods.
These groups of animals are alike because they both have rigid body covering called exoskeleton. It protects its body from harmful creatures. They both also have jointed legs wich help them walk easier. The weight and hardness of the exoskeleton makes it heavier so it's difficult to move. It also limits its size, reduces water loss, and they are the largest group of animals.
Now lets talk about the differences, the differences between these two unique animals are that an insect has three sections of its body, a head and abdomen. An arachnid doesn't. Also arachnids are probly more dangerous cause of their size and other little things. Also arachnids are larger and stronger than insects.
Well now you know some facts about these unique and in a way strange animals. You can always find more information on these animals by reading books or Internet.

22. Insects and Arachnids
Do you know what an insect and a arachnid is? Well I do because I learned what they were. And if you don't know what an insect and a arachnid is I am about to compare them. I'm going to compare them so you would know the diffrence between an insect and a arachnid.
An insect and a arachnid are Similar in many different ways. One of the same ways they are the same is that they both have jointed legs. The spider and the butterfly also have hard outer covering. They both are arthropods. Arthropods are the largest and most diverse group of animals. Arthropods also have a ridge body covering called exoskeleton. Finally they have bodies divied into parts. They have bilateral symmetry and segmented bodies similar to annelids. These are similar, now I will tell you the diffrences.
One of the reasons they are different is that insects has 6 legs, and a arachnid has 8 legs. Also the ant has 3 body parts, and the Spider has 2 body parts. Another reason is that insects have 2 antennas, and the arachnids does not have any antennas. The adult insect can fly, but none of the arachnids can't. The spiders are different from ants. Well one thing ant's make ant hills, and Spiders do web's to catch their prey cause of their eye sight. They both have diffrent behaviors.
In conclusion, these are the similarties and the diffrences between insects and arachnids. There might be more intresting stuff about these animals, but that's all I know for know. There's a lot of more stuff about these animals, but that is all I could tell you for now. I hope this was an intresting story to you. The End!!

23. Segmented Creatures!
Do you know what insects, and arcachnids are? If you don't than just keep on reading and don't stop. I am going to explain to you how a insect, and a arachinid are alike and different from each other. I decided to write about insects and arachinids, because lots of people don't know them a part.
First, I am going to explain the similarities to you. An insect and arachnids are very much Alike as in they both a segmented body. Both have a segmented body so they can move properly. Insects and arachnids both have the ability to walk on solid ground. These two animals are both Arthropods, and have a exoskeleton.
On the other hand, the insect and arachids also have many differences in there body structures and life styles. One difference is most insect have wings and can fly, as in arachnids don't have wings and can't fly. Insects have six legs while Arachnids have eight legs. An insect has antennaes but an arachnids does not have antennaes. The insects are the largest group of arthropods. An insect communicates by it's antennae, and a arachnid communicates by certain sounds and movements.
In conclusion, you now know what an insect and aracnid is. I have now explained the simularities and differences in insects and arachnids. I hope you enjoyed this story, and also learned something.

24. What is the different and the same about arachnids form insects?
I Bet your thinking How can you tell the Differents about insects and arachniDs? Theres not much Differents But when you think about it they are much Different.
For example the insects have jointed legs like all Bugs have less the insects have wings and six Legs But the arachniDs have the antennaes and arachniDs can fight But when you think about them they have a able that hleps them out like insect some of them can Blen with there surrondings to hid and like arachniDs some of them cam see at night.
the insecrs and arachniDs have jointed Legs and they invade plants.
now you know H insects are Different.

Take me, lord.
Well, there you have it - the product of American public schooling at its finest. Today's scientists could learn a thing or two from these children - chiefly, that Texas law prohibits a teacher from giving below a 50 on a report, no matter how terrible it is. If this makes you slightly sick, or even suicidal, your reaction is indeed the correct one. Now, please excuse me so I can create a time machine to retroactively destroy processed sugar and the television.
