As ancient terrors from the deep infiltrate sleepy suburbia, Stephen Hawking and Satan debate Bewitched casting. Hardcore Holmes makes the ultimate edgy sacrifice, the inventor of the Time Phone wages an awkward war against himself, and legendary impaler Vlad Tepes takes on his biggest enemy yet: Zoning Bylaws.
Meanwhile, in the writers’ room, the creators of a sketch-comedy podcast embark on a sprawling metafictional odyssey equal parts hilarious, confusing and TERRIFYINGLY APOCALYPTIC.
Big Explosions! Brain-Sucking Monsters! Car Chases! Wailing Guitars! Taxidermy! Awkward, Potentially Homoerotic Domestic Situations! A Ham Sandwich! All this and oh-so-much more in this massive, charmingly convoluted labour of love, two comically on-and-off years in the making.

Andrey: As a gifted orator once said, “I’m a slave 4 U”. For twelve hours straight we toiled, to bring you what is possibly the most putritly festive, grotesque, bloated half-hour holiday special imaginable. That’s right- I said half hour. In Canada, it’s quantity over quality, and with Alastair Europe-bound, Gord and I have seen fit to deliver a Christmas Podcast to end not only other such Podcasts, but also possibly civilization as a whole.
Hold on to your hat, and wait impatiently for the 27MB MP3 to download. Trust me: it’s worth it. Nine out of our ten listeners recommend it.

Few bands (some would say none at all) have made as big a contribution to the music scene as Popular Musical Group *NSYNC. With a distinguished song library spanning Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), Like a Rolling Stone and the theme from Murder, She Wrote, the group is nothing short of a heaven-sent treasure to the undeserving mortal realm.
Unfortuantely, this burdens any *NSYNC merchandise with a lot to live up to. Can this tie-in PC game, with its promises of “five funny games”, “EXCLUSVIE! voice and video clips” and the chance to “learn the secrets of the boys”, do justice to the *NSYNC legacy? As a member of the twentysomething male target demographic, I vowed to find out. Continue Reading »

I’m a warm affectionate person, as most who meet me will vouch, and I just love the Christmas season. I’m not sure if it’s the Christmas Cheer in the store windows, the shiny baubels on the Christmas trees or the way the light from the burning orphanage reflects in the eyes of that someone special. It’s a mystery.
What’s not a mystery (how’s THAT for a segue) is todays update. Packed to the brim with Christmas Magic™ is this fantastic and information stuffed interview with the jolly red man himself, Santa Clause. Go ahead and read it and you too can feel the warm trickle of Christmas Cheer run down your leg!

The Rubber Chicken scores an interview with Darren Gargette, a former tester for one of the world’s most secretive video game development companies, to uncover The Truth behind upcoming Xbox 360 titles Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, and perhaps even a few unannounced Rare projects…
Back in the Rarenet days I made a very good friend, “Boggy”. He is also known as Darren Gargette, who is incidentally in the credits of Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Donkey Kong Country 2, and Sabre Wulf as a beta-tester (but I’m pretty sure his name is actually Boggy and he really is some sort of fat polar bear who seriously believes that being dive-bombed by a bear on a sled with sharp pointy runners is a good way to fix stomach ache).
I managed to score a secret interview with said (ex-)beta-tester about his time at legendary videogame developers Rare, and this is that interview.

Could our days of whimsical pointlessness be behind us? Are we selling out to relevance? Could this spell a radical transformation into – forgive me for daring to utter the forbidden word – respectability?
Find out as you delve into this hard-hitting, uncompromising interview – easily our most shocking exposé of government affairs since, well, The Rubber Chicken Talks Politics.
