Today is the sixteenth day of the month – Do Something Controversial Day – a day in ‘Chicken town usually reserved for childish and spiteful pranks. But this time, we’ll make an exception.
As many of you know, several key members of The Rubber Chicken have past affiliations with the fan community of videogame developers Rare. Somewhere along the way, our former websites fell into rivalry with the kids at Rare-Extreme.com. But today, my friends… today we concede defeat.
Rare-Extreme recently obtained the impossible: a guided tour of Rare HQ itself, and posted a fascinating, well-written talisman of fine journalism on this incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience. To show there are no longer any hard feelings between us, and to make up for any past bitterness, we offer the following reconciliatory plug their fine website. Check it out now, y’all.

To celebrate the new year, the Rubber Chicken’s three Australian head writers arranged a rare face-to-face meeting. Below is a sample of a typical day with us sharing a state.
HappyBob: Rise and shine!
Aussie Ben: (in bed, burying head under pillow) I don’t want to go to school, Mum!
Canned laughter.
HappyBob: (jumping up and down, clapping loudly) It’s 6am and we have another fun-filled day of site work ahead!
Canned laughter.
Ben: Can’t Bungholio do it? Where is he, anyway?
Bungholio bursts through door to deliver his catchphrase.
Bungholio: Has anyone seen my PANTS?

Alastair: Australian comedian Shaun Micallef is somewhat of a demigod to The Rubber Chicken’s Australian writers. His previous sketch comedy series is eerily similar to the sort of show we would make, but for our lack of time, money and talent. It was therefore only natural that we await Micallef Tonight, his long-overdue return to television, as parents would their firstborn. And when that show (let’s end the baby metaphor here before things get ugly) was prematurely axed by the Nine Network after barely two months on air, we considered it a direct and personal insult.
The following retaliatory letters won’t bring the show back, but they just might waste precious seconds of a Channel Nine secretary’s time. And in the end, that’s what ThatChickenSite.com is all about. More importantly, we hope they give you a good chuckle, and go that little way in restoring the laughs robbed from the world in these dark, dark days.

The Rubber Chicken began life as a mildly silly videogame review page.
Out of respect for history, we have kept some of the least embarrassing early reviews in the archive.
It’s not hard to get excited about Septic Cleaner. After all, who enjoys a dirty septic system? Not me, that’s for sure!
However, it’s not often great deals for septic system cleaning come along, so when I saw !! Astounding Septic Product !! from “Barry” in my Junk Mail folder, I literally fell off my chair with glee! And How!

Without neither trepidation nor pants, I set off to learn more about the amazing SPC, and boy was I stunned and slightly aroused by what I learnt!
